Local mode is recommended
Choose a CSV up to 20 MiB, 100,000 rows, and 500 columns. Parsing, profiling, every plan step, preview, undo, fuzzy suggestions, and full CSV export happen in this browser without upload.
Build and export locally
Select columns, add whitespace, case, null, or deduplication steps, and review their explicit order. Export downloads a new CSV without overwriting the source. Formula-like values are prefixed with an apostrophe so common spreadsheets keep them as text.
Temporary Loam preview
Choose temporary mode explicitly for a direct Loam upload. The Worker creates one private temporary dataset. Its service key remains on the server, and access to the dataset stays only in page memory. The browser uploads directly to the configured storage provider and calls Loam regional APIs. The dataset expires after 24 hours by default, never later than 7 days, and activity does not extend it. Reloading or disconnecting loses access, and you cannot retain the dataset.
Temporary limits
Temporary plans support lowercase, uppercase, and exact-row deduplication. Loam computes source/output counts and shows up to 100 rows. Query responses fail above 10,000 rows or 16 MiB, and temporary access cannot save a view or download a full large result. Use local mode for full CSV export or governed Loam for a durable cleaned view.
Governed Loam and Claude
Login with Loam is optional identity, not a requirement for either anonymous mode and not a way to retain a temporary dataset. Add https://aidatacleaning.ai/api/mcp to a compatible remote MCP client, sign in with Loam, choose an eligible workspace account, and review the requested capability. The dedicated resource exposes only seven cleaning tools. Six inspect or preview data; save_cleaned_view requires write scope and creates a new view without replacing the source.
Frequently asked questions
Is my CSV uploaded when I clean it locally?
No. Local cleaning processes the CSV in this browser without an account. Temporary Loam mode is a separate option and uploads a copy only after you confirm it in the application.
Which files can I clean?
Local mode accepts one CSV up to 20 MiB, 100,000 rows and 500 columns. Export other formats as CSV first. Download your cleaned result before refreshing or closing the tab.
Does cleaning overwrite my original CSV?
No. Rules change a preview that you can undo or reset. Export downloads a separate cleaned CSV and processes the complete accepted file.
